Seeing women in uniform is common in Israel, largely because they are conscripted.

While women have to serve two years instead of the three that the men have to, many voluntarily choose to serve a third year to be combat soldiers.

The IDF, the Israeli army, is probably one of the pioneers among forces that have allowed  women into combat roles.

And an example of this is the number of women entering the officer training courses after their initial service.
